011199 – External Ad - UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2 (Drug Delivery), Veterinary Medicine/ Veterinary Biosciences and Conway Institute (Temporary, 24 Months)
Applications are invited for a Post- Doctoral Research Fellow 1 or 2 in the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine/ Veterinary Biosciences. This is a temporary post.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will be based for a 24 month period in the laboratory of Professor David Brayden ( https://people.ucd.ie/david.brayden ) at UCD’s School of Veterinary Medicine and is linked to core facilities at the Conway Institute. The aim of the project is to explore oral bioavailability of proprietary synthetic peptides and natural hydrolysates from food(s) using in vitro and in vivo models established at UCD. The post is jointly funded by the Science Foundation Ireland Beacon Centre for Bio-economy Centre ( www.bioeconomybeacon.ie/ ) and Nuritas Ltd ( www.nuritas.com ). Bioassays include peptide fluxes across Caco-2 monolayers, isolated intestinal tissue in diffusion chambers, and measurement of absorption from in vivo intestinal instillations. This post is a unique opportunity to carry out industrial collaborative translational research in an academic setting where interaction with the industrial partner will be high, and where high impact publications will result once IP is protected.
For post-doctoral Research Fellow 1 (PD-1) applicants, this will be a role to build on relevant skills learnt during the Ph.D. For post-doctoral Research Fellow 2 (PD-2) applicants, this will be an advanced research focused role, building on your prior experience as a post-doctoral fellow, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator. The appointment will at either PD-1 or PD-2 level, depending on experience.
PD1 Salary Scale: €37,223 – 43,029 per annum
PD2 Salary Scale: €44,266 – €48,205 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
