About the Role


As the EHS Manager, you will provide all levels of management, supervisors, and employees with the necessary information, support, advice, and facilitation to ensure that you can fulfill the EHS requirements of their roles. Based on the Ashford site, the EHS Manager ensures compliance with all UK legislative and Givaudan Corporate requirements. In this role, you will report to the Site Operations Director.


You Will:


  • Initiate actions to ensure compliance with the site and Givaudan Corporate EHS policies
  • Be the EHS champion and increase awareness of EHS sitewide
  • Assess the EHS needs of the site and translate them into a cost-effective improvement programme
  • To perform specialist risk assessments and ensure that the findings are communicated to relevant employees
  • Be the nominated responsible person under the Regulatory Reform Order for fire and provide information and advice
  • Identify EHS training needs and to ensure appropriate training is provided
  • Maintain a legislative register, to collaborate with relevant legislative authorities and to ensure the site meets its regulatory requirements
  • Provide EHS advice and information to all management and personnel or permanent contract staff
  • Report and recommend remedial action after incidents and emergencies and verify the implementation of agreed actions
  • Manage the preparation, review, and updating of the COMAH Safety report and MAPP and to ensure that appropriate actions are taken to achieve control of MAHs on site 
  • Measure safety and health performance against targets
  • Monitor procedures to enhance the security of the site and ensure compliance with waste legislation


You Have:


  • 5+ years of experience in a senior EHS role
  • Working knowledge of current UK legislative and corporate S&E requirements
  • Recognized qualifications in EHS (MIOSH)
  • Good communication skills at all levels, including management, employees and external regulatory bodies
  • Experience managing the EHS activities of a manufacturing site (Medium to high hazard activity)
  • Experience managing EHS budget
  • Experience with preparation of COMAH documentation
