The Strain Development group is part of the R&D Department of its Cultures, Food Enzymes and Food Protection Division. The group is strongly involved in knowledge development and is responsible for selecting strains of microorganisms to be used in the design of starter cultures for dairy and other fermentation industries. It is specialized in the microbiology of Lactic Acid Bacteria with expertise in physiology, biochemistry, virology, genetics and genomics.
We are currently seeking an Expert Scientist in Bacterial Metabolism F/M who will be based in Dangé-Saint-Romain (France - 86).
Purpose of the job :
As part of the Strain Development group, the candidate will be responsible for the core competency in the field of bacterial metabolism, to promote new scientific ideas through internal or external research projects and to drive scientifically and technically these projects.
Building up on his/her expertise in the establishment of metabolic models using integrative omics analyses, he/she will propose approaches to Lactic Acid Bacteria metabolism optimization in the context of starter cultures development.
That activity will be conducted in the frame of innovation and development projects with the help of a team of technicians and scientists.
The Scientist in Bacterial Metabolism will report to the Strain Development manager.
The candidate will have a Ph.D degree and 6+ years of experience in Enzymology, Biochemistry and Analytical Chemistry. He/she will have practical experience in these fields acquired through previous industrial or academic professional experience.
The candidate will have a scientific mind, good organizational skills and a strong background in Microbiology.
