The DuPont Microbial Control business has an opening for a Sales Manager (m/f) in the European Region. This role will be based in Milan, Madrid, Leiden, Bruges, or Paris.


Under the direction of the Microbial Control Commercial Sales Leader, this role will manage a combination of existing accounts and new accounts in current and developing market segments. This position involves close cooperation with different functions, including marketing, regulatory, business applications, and supply chain in support of customers.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Develop Account Plans for Strategic Accounts.
  • Achieve a high level of penetration across multiple functions (Procurement, Technology, Commercial, Management) within customer base.
  • Maintain strong relationships at all levels of customer organization.
  • Effectively negotiate supply contracts.
  • Manage customer pricing strategically in line with business goals.
  • Deliver a high level of service to customers.
  • Effectively resolve quality or service issues that arise.
  • Work with customers to define un-met needs.
  • Develop sales opportunities with existing and prospect accounts.
  • Drive implementation of Innovation programs with Strategic Accounts.
  • Enter and track opportunities using Salesforce.com.
  • Successfully convert opportunities to sales growth.
  • Maintain a high degree of knowledge on Microbial Control technologies.
  • Be a resource to the business on Competitive Intelligence.
  • Be knowledgeable on market trends. Provide Voice of Customer input on key Innovation programs.
  • Develop forecasts on anticipated customer product consumption.
  • Effective management of sales terms and credit with assigned customers 

External focus: Expected to spend up to 50% of time traveling for customer interactions.

Job Qualifications

 

Preferred experience & qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years of sales experience.
  • Broad science work experience and skill set.
  • BS or MSc degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or Chemistry.
  • Knowledge of European Biocides Regulation (BPR) or REACH.
  • Fluency in the English and Italian language.
  • Conversational in Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
