Title: UK Sales Manager

Location: UK

Our client is a creator and producer of plant varieties. The business also develops and manufacturers functional ingredients for the food ingredients industry. 

The company is looking for a UK Sales Manager to join their team. The person in this role will be responsible for maintaining and building relationships with existing and new customers. They will also liaise with distributors and manage sales through their distributor partners.

This is a very attractive role to an individual looking to gain regional Sales experience within a lively, driven company. 

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the formulation of Annual Operational Plan, Account Plans and Budget; execute Annual Operational Plan and Account Plans to optimize and grow sales at new and existing accounts in the region. 
  • Maintain and build relationships with existing and new accounts. Contribute to and use (key) account management, market management plans, and strategies.
  • Maintain and build relationships with agents/distributors and manage sales through assigned agents/distributors.
  • Provide technical support/training to prospects, customers, and distributors; respond to questions regarding legislation, specifications, applications, quality, and formulation.
  • Advise prospects and current customers on the selection and use of current products including usage level, recipe calculations, regulatory issues and quality assurance, and provide technical assistance in the development of new products.
  • Close collaboration with Technical Sales Service (Snack & Bakery) to develop new propositions in strategic focus areas.
  • Study industry and market trends in defined region to identify future strategies and develop new markets in the region. Attend conferences, workshops, and shows to network, develop sales leads, promote Unicorn Grain Specialties leading position and name recognition.

Requirements 

  • At least 5 years of experience in food ingredients sales industry
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in food science
  • Sales/account management and/or marketing experience in value added technical sales of specialty food ingredients
  • Must have strong results-orientation.
  • Independent, proactive, enthusiastic, positive.
  • Analytical and objective.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time. Domestic and European (Mainly France, Holland and Germany)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of French or German

Organisational Context

  • Manages interfaces within the accounts, between account & internal organization and within internal organization with the purpose of maintaining & growing business profitably & sustainably.
  • External contacts include the disciplines: R&D, Marketing, Product Development,
  • Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance.
  • Internal contacts include this disciplines: Innovation, TSS, Marketing, Finance, Operations.
