Kerry's Applied Health & Nutrition company acquired Fleishmann's Vinegar in 2018 and we'd love for you to join our Engineering Team. This role can be located remotely (home based)

Join our AHN (Applied Health & Nutrition) Business Unit as the Project Engineer to lead and support engineering, systems integration, and process improvements through capital projects and operational efficiency projects within our manufacturing sites.  This position will concurrently support multiple projects at one or more facilities throughout the organization.

This role is remote (home based), with 60% travel, with preferred home base in the Chicago area or more travel will be needed.

Key responsibilities

Lead and supports various projects in Capital improvement ranging $5k - $3MM, and operational improvements up to $500k in scope.  This position requires strong knowledge in Project Management, process and packaging improvements, and sanitary design for food manufacturing.  The Engineer will lead these projects through accurate project forecasting and budgets, equipment procurement, scheduling, integration, installation, start-up and successful project closure.  Personnel Safety and Food Safety design standards will lead priority in all projects.     

  • Manages process, packaging and facility capital projects from a technical, financial and manpower perspective.
  • Directly participates in the design, development and creation of scope for engineering projects or the engineering work of the department.
  • Experience with justifying, implementing and closing capital project ranging from $5k-$3MM.
  • Creates project estimates and timelines for initial project consideration.
  • Identifies and proposes equipment and/or processing options to meet objectives within projects.
  • Leads the bid process, budgeting and submission process for capital and operational projects.
  • Directs the installation, commissioning, qualification and verification for regional engineering capital projects.
Qualifications and skills

  • Do you have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably a Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Degree?
  • Do you bring demonstrated (8+ years) years Engineering experience and 5+ in Project engineering related to Food, Beverage, or Pharmaceutical?
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Versed in project schedules, cost estimates, PFDs, P&IDs, site and elevation drawings, utilities requirements development, interpretation of P&IDs, with a good understanding of process and instrumentation control.
  • Would be a plus to have experience with Liquid Beverage Processes, tanks, boiler installation and replacement, wastewater treatment system & automatic palletizer etc.
