Job Description

  • Responsibility includes the management of activities for the safety, integrity, legality and quality of our food products.
  • Directs activities of supervisory staff and team members with strong emphasis placed on employee development, performance expectations, and ensuring proper training as it relates to their job function. 
  • Maintains positive employee relations by providing a people-oriented work environment designed to motivate employees and reduce turnover.
  • Ensures fast reaction & responses to repair calls/equipment breakdowns and timely repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Actively participates in all plant safety initiatives and promotes safety and housekeeping initiatives. 
  • Participation in facility maintenance and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Strict adherence to all safety guidelines, rules, policies and procedures.
  • Safe handling and use of various chemicals with strict adherence to Hazardous communication & MSDS requirements.
  • Prepares and conduct timely employee performance evaluations according to Company standards.
  • Conducts special studies as assigned or self-initiated to improve departmental services, production efficiencies, and satisfying internal & external requirements.
  • Develops and manages a maintenance budget to include cost & control of maintenance labor, materials, installations, etc.  Will control cost and analyze causes of variances between actual/budget expenses.
  • Works with engineering department on planning and execution of small capital projects.
  • Manages the parts department: oversees part purchases, MRO inventories of parts & supplies, and establishes control & processes for MRO inventories. 
  • Aggressively reduces maintenance spending by using alternative parts, modifying preventative maintenance programs, and identifying root causes for parts wear and tear.
  • Directs and oversees the Preventative Maintenance Programs to attain optimum production operating efficiencies.
  •  Improves equipment efficiencies & determine labor standards through the use of Total Productive maintenance philosophies.
  • Oversees environmental programs.
  • Actively participates in all plant safety initiatives with responsibility for maintenance related TPM pillar.  Will also promote safety and housekeeping initiatives by engaging employees in TPM process.
  • Communicates Safety, Quality, and Food Safety policies to all employees. Ensures such policies are applied by all employees.
  • Supports, and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs and legality.
  • Incorporates and supports GMPs and plant cleanliness among plant workers.
  • Implements and monitors overall production performance and quality standards and ensure objectives are established, documented, monitored, and reviewed. Ensure non-conformities identified in quality programs are addressed and corrected.
