Job Description

Summary: 

This position is responsible for the ordering and maintaining inventory of all machine parts used in production equipment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. 

 

  • Tracks all purchases and costs, maintains a budget on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.  Keeps running YTD and MTD budget figures.  Provide it to management periodically.
  • Maintains all the parts areas in regard to cleanliness and organization.
  • Inventories parts on daily basis, orders parts when quantities are at minimum.   Maintain inventory at established levels.
  • Maintains parts requisition log and orders parts when appropriate.
  • Enter receiving and relieving information into MP2 when parts are received or services completed.
  • Create reports, complete forms, and otherwise communicate in writing anything that may be passed on to an employee, vendor, customer, potential customer or members of management.
  • Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person. Report any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition.
  • Supports food safety, quality and legality.
  • Support, and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs.
  • Support and comply with GMP’s
  • Participate in TPM initiatives.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Reports To:  Maintenance Manager

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Education and/or Experience

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent and ability to read, speak and write English so as to assimilate, retain, and apply training and knowledge of job functions and recognize and communicate problems and recommended solutions.
  • Computer Skills -- Proficient in MS Windows applications, especially MS Excel
  • 1-2 years prior work in parts room in a manufacturing environment
    • purchasing experience
    • inventory management experience
