PURPOSE OF THE ROLE / FUNCTIONAL CONTEXT:

This person is a technical professional who acts as a key resource for RD&Q.
This position requires a detailed understanding of the development process and awareness of enabling technologies to contribute to project objectives and outcomes.
This role is responsible for independently planning and delivering technical tracks within projects, also providing a linkage to cross functional teams. There may also be a need to have direct coaching of junior technical personnel.
Analyse project objectives and develop technical plan to deliver (tasks, timeline, budget, risk management plan, interlinkages)
Prepares technical feasibility assessment based on accessing global, external and own technical know-how and supplemented with further research and/or consultation
Identifies resource needs required to deliver assigned projects
Independently prepares detailed project plans, including risk matrix, contingency plans and design of experiments
Program/Project Leadership & Execution
Executes multiple projects according to developed project plans
Identify and remove project hurdles and execute out contingency plans, manage stakeholders and information flow
Act as project manager, in some cases, and coordinate with other functions as well as external resources/partners and ensures plan and resource (material, manpower, etc.) availability to support project objectives
Represent R&D in cross functional team if appointed R&D track lead. Seek inputs from other R&DQ colleagues and ensure R&D track is managed and aligned with total project plan
Able to apply technical knowledge to various business needs / problem solve
Product Specification & Regulatory
Prepare all necessary technical documents & specifications
Review and revise technical specifications to maintain accuracy of specification
Lead in product assessment against regulations, intellectual property and corporate standards
Organisation Excellence & Development
Provide technical coaching to junior staff where applicable
Seek to improve self and team’s technical depth
Lead the adaptation of new and existing technologies to increase team’s technical capabilities
