After 60+ years of existence, it today has six company-owned manufacturing facilities at Thane, Induri (Pune), Malanpur (Gwalior), Sricity (Andhra Pradesh), Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), and Hyderabad and 4 sales offices (New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai). The corporate office is in Mumbai. 
 
We operate in five categories in India – Chocolate, Confectionery, Beverages, Biscuits, Gum and Candy and market 11 Power Brands which include Bournvita, Dairy Milk, Halls, Gems, 5Star, Choclairs, Perk, Celebrations, Bournville, Tang & Oreo. Mondelez India Foods Ltd dominates the chocolate market in India with approximately 70% share of the market.


PURPOSE OF THE ROLE / FUNCTIONAL CONTEXT:


Research and Development is at the hub of our business, creating the innovative new products that will be tomorrow’s leaders, and reinventing our existing ones to keep them at the top. R&D Q’s mission is ultimately to delight consumers by delivering unique product experiences to the consumers, which will over time underpin and anchor our brands. It does so whilst aiming at creating the most value for consumers, customers and shareholders.

This person is a technical professional who acts as a key resource for RD&Q.

This position requires a detailed understanding of the development process and awareness of enabling technologies to contribute to project objectives and outcomes.

This role is responsible for independently planning and delivering technical tracks within projects, also providing a linkage to cross functional teams. There may also be a need to have direct coaching of junior technical personnel.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Planning

Analyse project objectives and develop technical plan to deliver (tasks, timeline, budget, risk management plan, interlinkages)

Prepares technical feasibility assessment based on accessing  global, external and own technical know-how and supplemented with further research and/or consultation

Identifies resource needs required to deliver assigned projects

Independently prepares detailed project plans, including risk matrix, contingency plans and design of experiments

 

Program/Project Leadership & Execution

Executes multiple projects according to developed project plans

Identify and remove project hurdles and execute out contingency plans, manage stakeholders and information flow

Act as project manager, in some cases, and coordinate with other functions as well as external resources/partners and ensures plan and resource (material, manpower, etc.) availability to support project objectives

Represent R&D in cross functional team if appointed R&D track lead. Seek inputs from  other R&DQ colleagues and ensure R&D track is managed and aligned with total project plan

Able to apply technical knowledge to various business needs / problem solve

 

Product Specification & Regulatory

Prepare all necessary technical documents & specifications

Review and revise technical specifications to maintain accuracy of specification

Lead in product assessment against regulations, intellectual property and corporate standards

Organisation Excellence & Development

Provide technical coaching to junior staff where applicable

Seek to improve self and team’s technical depth

Lead the adaptation of new and existing technologies to increase team’s technical capabilities

Contribute to a create a successful team environment

 




Qualifications

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE   Technical / Functional skills: Bachelor’s degree in Food science/Technology and/or Food engineering Desired minimum of 5-6 years experience in a technical project management capacity Competent computer skills and systems knowledge Sound knowledge of HACCP and GMP Sound technical knowledge and depth Able to plan project activities and execute in timely manner within allocated/aligned resources Sound written and verbal communication skills Learning agility Project Planning Project Execution and agility Functional technical depth Fast adapt skills Mechanical aptitude Technical documentation General project management Good Manufacturing Practices Basic Finance applicable to engineering or product development projects High ability for technical record keeping   Behavioral competencies: Team player – Able to work in a cross functional team environment Good self-knowledge Able to communicate effectively Able to adapt to changes in projects and priorities Drive for results - Ownership and accountability Able to work with stretch targets and seek assistance when required Perseverance Able to work in a matrix structure Effective negotiation & influencing skills Should be able to travel Action Oriented Problem Solving / Route cause analysis Technical learning Time management High learning agility / lateral thinker Able to adapt technical communication to a variety of audiences
