Job Description


Responsible for performing in an efficient and timely manner, all HACCP verifications on metal detectors, magnets and screens. Maintain HACCP documentation on the production floor


  • To set and adjust the sensitivity of the metal detectors.
  • Verify metal detector audits performed for all production centers.
  • Investigate or assist in the identification of the source of any metal detector rejections and abnormalities
  • Communicate with Production and Management to ensure proper set-ups for metal detectors
  • Communicate all nonconformities to Management and Production
  • Place on hold and quarantine material found to be non-conforming
  • Perform daily screen and magnet checks for the facilities bulk system and work centers
  • Perform line audits as requested
  • Perform manufacturing facility quality inspections.
  • Assist Receiving technician, Supply chain and Procurement when non-conforming material and packaging is found.
  • Performs additional tasks as required to accomplish goals.


  • High School degree and minimum of one year experience in manufacturing plant preferred.
  • Excellent reading, writing, math and computer skills with an in depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel.


This job position requires standing, walking, kneeling, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing, lifting, grasping, climbing stairs,

repetitive motions and reaching above and below the shoulders. The ability to verbally communicate,

hear and perceive visually is required. Moves and lifts finished goods, raw material and chemical supplies weighing up to 60 lbs.


Duties will be performed both inside and outside of the manufacturing plant.

Most inside processing locations, which are not heated or cooled will have:

  • a temperature range of 45° F to 110° F depending upon weather conditions. Because there will be some exposure to hazardous, corrosive or flammable chemicals the use of protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, dust mask and aprons will be required.
  • Participate in and successfully complete all required training classes
  • Understand and comply with all general safety and environmental requirements for the processing locations and additional specific requirements as contained in the standard methods or in special instructions
  • Review literature related to the general techniques used in the Processing facility
  • Learn all of the specific standard operating procedures outlined by the QC Lab Quality Control Manual
