We are looking for a Manufacturing Technology Process Development Engineer to join our clean label hub with location in Brabrand, Denmark.

With your relevant expertise in development of clean label texturants you will help us add minimally-processed texturants from natural raw materials to our world-class portfolio of texturants for the global food industry. You will leverage cross-functional disciplines within our global Technology & Innovation community and work in an agile development team of technologists, scientists and engineers to span the process from laboratory discovery to full-scale process implementation. The clean label team is part of Systems, Texturants and Emulsifiers R&D (STE R&D) and you will report to the Manufacturing Technology Systems and Texturants lead in Braband and receive functional guidance from the clean label lead scientist.  You will be directly responsible for process development and scale up of new systems and texturants processes that involve minimal processing of natural raw material.  You will drive scale-up activities and help transfer product from R&D to full scale manufacturing.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support and champion corporate safety initiatives
  • Process development for a new line of clean label texturants products
  • Scale up and support the transition from lab scale to pilot scale, and pilot scale to production
  • Identify, evaluate, and select unit operations to maximize product performance and production efficiency
  • Coordinate and execute lab and pilot scale work associated with clean label process development
  • Develop and document process technology information:
    • determine critical operating limits
    • develop both raw material and product specification ranges
    • understand transfer functions between operational parameters and physical properties, and applications performance

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent safety attitude
  • Passion for sustainability
  • BSc in Chemical Engineering; Master level qualification a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong safety leadership and experience with process safety management
  • Significant experience with process R&D / process development and finding creative solutions to introduce new processes
  • Strong technical competence in engineering fundamentals and ability to interpret data and apply scientific principles, theories and concepts
  • Ability to work cross functionally with R&D, Applications, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Analytical, and Commercial teams
  • Strong problem solving, prioritization, and risk based management skills
  • Data based decision making and strong results driven/action orientated approach to projects
  • A demonstrated history of delivering results bringing projects in safely, on time and on budget
  • The ability to effectively present at both informal and formal training settings
  • International experience and bi-lingual capabilities a plus
  • Willingness to travel internationally (up to 25%)
