The Plant Controllers are the “financial eyes” in the plant for both the local plant management team and the regional OSCO and Finance organization. In this respect, this function partners with various stakeholders in the organization and is the right hand of the and business partner of the Plant Manager and the local OSCO management team. The OSCO controlling function is accountable and fully responsibility (effective, timely and accurate) for reporting, analyzing and reconciling the local financial results versus targets for operational (in)efficiencies, headcount, overtime, material usage variances, direct and indirect costs, etc. As a business partner to the Plant Manager and the management team, the plant controller has to (i) drive change, (ii) continuously recommend scenarios to increase efficiency or avoid inefficiencies, (iii) be solutions oriented and (iv) materially contribute to the achievement of the business goals and targets of the plant. In this respect, it is absolutely needed to have a deep conceptual knowledge of operational flows to (i) detect in an early stage potential margin/performance leakage and (ii) improve productivity and drive efficiencies. As the financial Being responsible for a timely closing and reporting of the operations and supply chain results and KPI’s of the plant, including daily/weekly KPI’s, monthly financial closing (actuals, budget and forecast). Full responsibility for financial analyses of all operational drivers in operations and supply chain. This includes (and is not exhaustive) analyses of activity, costs, performance, material usage variances, CAPEX, etc. in order to detect the root cause and recommend specific improvement actions to the Plant Manager and Head of OSCO Controlling. As the financial right hand of the Plant Manager and the plant management team, it is very important to act as a “sparring” partner in assessing ideas and proposals and playing a prominent role in driving performance, avoiding margin leakages and developing the strategy together with the management team. Strong financial focus on challenging the existing operational processes in the plants with the aim to become more transparent, efficient, knowledgeable, etc.enabling to propose and implement corrective actions and facilitate sustainable continuous improvement. Next to the responsibilities directly connected to the operations in the plant, each Plant Controller will build expertise in a specific Regional OSCO responsibility acting as a SPOC for the other plant controlling colleagues in the region. If applicable, exploit and get all types of grants, subsidies, cash contributions, etc. from governments, institutions and bodies. Have a complete understanding of how the production process should be registered in SAP & address registration issues to production management in case procedures are not followed correctly (e.g. Imbalances in production orders, stock take inaccuracies, etc.). Ensure together with supply chain management that the stock take is done frequently (by preference on a monthly basis) & that the stock corrections are registered in a correct & completely explained matter right hand, being a “sparring partner” (i) financially challenging operational activities with a solutions oriented mind, (ii) supporting the achievement of the business goals and targets, (iii) being a key player in shaping and defining the strategy of the Plant Being the “financial eyes” in the plant and interface between the regional OSCO and Finance Organization and the plant management team. To have a deep understanding and knowledge of the processes in order to asses and validate costs, material usage variances, (in) efficiencies, performance, Investment Proposals, etc. To understand sufficiently the processes related to inbound, outbound, S&OP, production planning, …in order to assess and validate costs, material usage variances, (in)efficiencies, performance, … To reduce in a sustainable way negative material usage variances or even more, drive positive material usage variances as a contributor to the P&L To have a correct reflection of the factory costs in the pricing and calculate additional surcharges where necessary To connect sourcing and operations on the inbound of raw materials To adhere to internal control processes To exploit to the utmost all types of grants, subsidies, cash contributions, etc. To represent the company/plant and ensure adherence to law and policies Liaise with brokers and counterparties to provide accurate information and support the claim procedure To provide financial information supporting the business decisions Our strength comes from the passion and expertise of our people.
