ROLE PURPOSE   To support China Regulatory affairs for T&L ingredients commercialization in China MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES   Execute regulatory product petition and registration tasks under the guidance of China Regulatory Manager, work with internal and/or external partners to complete all necessary documentaries required for submission of approvals and registrations of products, track and progress submissions through the process on a reasonable frequent till approval received;   Monitor and participate in regulatory developments in China by working with relevant trade association under the guidance of China Regulatory Manager, ensure regulatory compliance of Tate & Lyle’s products, marketing, promotional and sales materials with regulations.   Collect and observe regulation updates through various channels like government or official websites, identify the potential gaps between Tate & Lyle products or influence to customers, execute internal and external action plans accordingly;   Provide regulatory and interpretation when necessary, including but not limited to: existing/planned new products to meet relevant legislation, regulatory database (such as EPIS, SAP , Teamsite ), varies training sections for internal folks, regulatory stewardship to factories in China;    Provide timely and appropriate regulatory support to customers according to the usage of related ingredients for assigned product categories; Reply basic and routine internal and external customer regulatory requests for assigned product categories, e.g. SPEC, customer agreement review, compliance assessment etc.   Complete regulatory admin work, e.g. filing regulation in the internal shared folder, update product regulatory information in multiple files, Maintain excellent regulatory records; Signing contract, procure order payment etc.   Other tasks assigned by China RSA manager QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor or above in Food Science or Food engineering. From creating enhanced ingredients that improve our customer’s products to inventing new solutions, our team of scientists and technologists work at the cutting edge of innovation every day.   You will be a part of the Global Nutrition team responsible for the development and execution of the nutrition research portfolio (pre-clinical, clinical and observational research) to support our existing ingredients and new product development.  Partnering with the EMEA commercial organisation you will provide support to our customers and lead the dissemination of nutrition science to various internal and external key stakeholder audiences across the EMEA region.    Main accountabilities •    Collaborate with the Nutrition team to designing research projects to support the Tate & Lyle product portfolio •    Support nutrition research projects globally and regulatory activities in EMEA •    Develop and provide nutrition education and training for internal EMEA audiences •    Provide technical support to the region’s key players (sales, product management, marketing, regulatory, etc.) •    Communicate the ingredient / solution approaches that Tate & Lyle has developed to food and beverage manufacturers (potential and existing customers) across EMEA •    Collaborate with colleagues across the business to identify and develop communication opportunities that strategically support Tate & Lyle’s health & wellness and sweetener initiatives as well as the Food and Beverage Solutions business unit •    Collaborate with the Regulatory team to provide nutritional expertise to support their activities within the region •    Collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and agency partners to develop science-based communication materials for nutrition / health & wellness audiences (nutrition scientists, health care professionals) and customers in the food  and beverage industry •    As part of global Nutrition Education Outreach programme, contribute to various internal and external educational activities within the region •    Keep abreast of emerging science and policy issues in the nutrition and health environment and identify nutrition-related business opportunities in the region   Skills and experience required   •    MSc or PhD in Nutrition or a related field  •    Strong foundation in the food manufacturing / food retail / food ingredients industry with experience in science communications and knowledge of the regulatory environment in EMEA •    Experience in managing research projects and creating nutrition science based communications •    Preclinical and clinical study design, execution, and understanding of statistical analysis will be useful •    Good knowledge of sweeteners and carbohydrate nutrition or public health nutrition is advantageous  •    Passion and creativity for innovation in research & science communications  •    Experience of communicating successfully with technical and non-technical audiences through first class interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal •    Excellent problem solving skills and ability to manage / prioritise multiple projects with complex scientific information requiring high attention to detail and intense deadlines •    Evidence of collaborative relationships with external stakeholders i.e. customers / industry scientists, academic / institution / contract lab researchers, healthcare professionals / practitioners, etc. •    First class communications skills – written and verbal •    Credible with gravitas, easily able to influence others •    Able to travel up to 20% of the time •    Self-starter  with an independent working style  •    Proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously  •    Strong team player, collaborative / collegiate working style, and supportive of colleagues globally to meet team goals
