The Customer Services and Reception team is responsible for providing the first point of contact at the site for both external and internal customers (new and existing) and ensuring ‘the face of RSSL/RSC’ is maintained in line with brand and brought to life. The Customer Services team are responsible for taking calls from Food/Other sector customers, defining their needs, discussing options and providing quotations. They do this by working closely with technical colleagues to ensure information provided is relevant, meets customer needs and is correct both from a cost and technical perspective. The team also deal with customer information requests, complaints, chasing of results, giving laboratory tours etc. This role within the wider Food Commercial Team is to manage and lead a highly motivated Customer Services and Reception team (4 direct line reports) to ensure that it meets the current and future projected growth needs of the RSC. This will involve maintaining and improving working practices and identifying efficiencies & opportunities to ensure the smooth running of Customer Services and Reception. The individual will have day to day and overall accountability for ensuring that enquiries relating to current projects, potential new projects, requests for information etc. are actioned appropriately within agreed timescales. The role will also require management of RSSL’s Emergency Response Service and management of specific business process projects as necessary (Results Online, CRM). Key Responsibilities: Technical and Operational . To be responsible for leading and managing the Food Customer Services and Reception Teams ensuring maintenance of quality of service and quality of technical information both from an external and internal perspective . To own day to day activities in terms of answering and dealing with Food Customer Service enquiries delivering excellent customer service, optimising calls by ‘selling-in’ other services, co-ordinating customer teleconferences to scope projects etc. . To manage and co-ordinate effective workflow with the Food Customer Services team to ensure timely response to both internal and external customers . To manage the Emergency Response Service including recruitment/training of new co-ordinators, planning of rotas, responding to membership requests and manage the annual renewal process for both food and pharmaceutical clients . To be the account manager for a number of designated Food Strategic Accounts acting as the principal contact between the client and RSSL operation teams in order to achieve sales growth. .To increase support & linkage with the food sales team to maximise customer experience including attending external events and providing tours in order to generate sales opportunities . Will have project delivery responsibilities through independently planning, leading and co-ordinating business process projects as required Communication & Influence . To liaise and co-operate with peers, customers, wider Commercial team and departments/labs to ensure effective communication . Deliver excellent customer service by representing RSSL in a professional manner in line with brand values Leadership and Supervision . The Facilities and Stores Manager is responsible for three operational sites, covering laboratories (operating under pharma GMP), industrial kitchens, administration and welfare facilities. (80,000 sq ft) ensuring work is done in line with all relevant legislation and manages the Facilities Team to provide an efficient and effective service support to all RSSL business operations and premises. ·          Act as the Facilities Security Control (FSC) for RSSL and comply with the roles and responsibilities as detailed by Mondelez International Security Instructions. ·          Act as the Responsible Person on Fire Safety and comply with the roles and responsibilities as detailed by the Fire Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. ·          Act as a Customs Declaration point of contact for RSSL and be qualified to complete those duties from an approved accredited training service provider.      ·          Strategically manage the development and maintenance of all facilities including hard and soft services in supporting RSSL business operations at all premises. Interns are provided with a network of mentors, peers and experts to aid in the development of their technical, business and leadership skills and will also have the opportunity to interact with and influence senior leaders across multiple functions while networking and developing relationships, with interns both on site and across multiple sites and functions as part of the Global RDQ Internship experience. Purpose of the role  In RSSL we are customer focused, science led and results driven. The RSSL DNA & Protein laboratory performs a wide range of analytical analyses for a variety of food, pharmaceutical and healthcare companies and supports Mondelez research and innovation. The role will be within the Sample Preparation team and includes being responsible for coordinating the sample prep workflow and ensuring the team stays on track with targets, performing a range of routine sample preparation activities, lab admin and housekeeping tasks. The role requires the technician to support effective completion of projects, to meet the clients’ contractual agreements and to report work in accordance with the quality standards.  Main responsibilities Technical  Provide high quality customer service at all times by ensuring effective organisation of assigned workload, integrity of analytical data generated and timely/accurate provision of results. Perform a range of basic routine sample orientated tasks including sample logging, sample preparation, sample disposal under supervision of a senior member of staff. Execute pipette calibration and data checking as required. Operate basic lab equipment as directed. Be competent in the use of generic and specific software packages required for the role: Laboratory’s LIMS system and Q-Pulse. Provide training in routine sample preparation activities. Perform Lab admin and housekeeping duties as directed. When required, provide support for the booking in of projects, to the Central Sample Administration team. Will be expected to work in different laboratories if the demand is required. Communication & Influence Work as part of an efficient analytical team. QEHS Work to the highest standards of safety and quality by ensuring that appropriate COSHHs, risk assessments and SOPs are understood and followed. To complete assigned quality actions on a timely manner. Assist with the documentation of SOPs for simple equipment and tests and generation of Risk Assessments and COSHH. To maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment. To understand and work to the requirements of GMP and UKAS. Ensure training records are accurate.
